Newspaper: The Ray

 

The Central Ray has received numerous awards from the Iowa College Media Association Conference. Typically, 25-30 students are involved with The Ray each semester. As an entering freshman or transfer student, you can begin working for the newspaper right away.

Radio: KCUI 89.1 FM

KCUIKCUI is a 10-watt, fully operational FM radio station run by Central College students.  As a part of KCUI, you have the opportunity to broadcast a variety of music including Top 40, rock, progressive, rap, country, R&B, punk, classic rock, contemporary Christian, and/or talk radio.  You may also choose to become involved with station management, contests and promotions. As an entering freshman or transfer student, you can begin working for the radio station right away.

KCUI’s focus is on musical diversity and student involvement, not on advertising or profit.

KCUI is for all Central students, not just for students interested in broadcasting careers.  At KCUI, you can acquire speaking, marketing, and business management abilities that will enhance any profession.

 

 

KCUI’s objective is to serve the college community by offering Central College students educational opportunities that benefit the campus and the surrounding area.
