We’ve found lots of helpful resources to assist you in the college search process, career planning, and financial assistance. Click on the provided links to access the suggested websites.

ACT.org

This website provides information about test dates and sites, as well as registration deadlines and procedures. In addition, the site offers practice tools to help students familiarize themselves with the ACT exam and to complete some sample tests online.

CollegeNavigator

This website is sponsored by the U.S. Deparment of Education and provides information about post-secondary institutions throughout the nation.Students and parents/guardians can set specific preferences (i.e. location, level of degree, type of school) in order to obtain tailored results.

FAFSA.ed.gov

When it comes time to apply for financial aid, this site will be very useful. This is where you should go to obtain a PIN, file the FAFSA, and view your Student Aid Report (SAR) after January 1 of your senior year.

IHaveAPlanIowa.gov

This website was developed to help Iowans plan for their futures. The site offers resources for all age groups – middle school, high school, college, and beyond. The focus is to assist individuals at all stages successfully plan their educational path. Users will be asked to create an account so that an individualized portfolio can be started and continuously updated. The main topics addressed on this site are career and course planning, goal setting, and financial aid information.

Iowa College Access Network (ICAN)

This organization offers numerous FREE services and helpful resources to Iowa families, schools, and programs (like Upward Bound). By accessing this site, you can find information about career planning, high school planning, college searches, scholariship information, and financial aid. The professionals at ICAN also happen to be FAFSA experts and sponsor FREE events to help you complete the FAFSA application.
