Seminar 11/17/10: HCI Design, Bo Li and Tyler Mather

HCI design as human computer interaction design was introduced when modern computers were invented. In the early 90s, HCI concepts and practices started to attract more and more attention in the computer science community. In the last two decades, especially after year 2000, there has been much research and many studies done on HCI design by a growing number of scholars including psychologists and sociologists. This seminar will present some of the work that has been done in this field, including perceptual grouping and pattern oriented design.
