Chuck Richards: “Jitters, Critters and a Magic Wand”

Chuck Richards trained as a fine artist with a concentration in drawing and painting. His imagery has always been representational, mostly figurative and frequently narrative. Since coming to Iowa State University in 1998, his work shifted direction down a new, but related path and he began to write and illustrate a children’s book entitled Jungle Gym Jitters, which was published in 2004 (Walker Books). Since then, he has published three more books, Author Day for Room 3T (2005, Clarion), Critter Sitter (2008, Walker) and Lulu’s Magic Wand (2012, Walker Books).
