Crafting Moving Stories with Rafael Rosado
October 2, 2019Central will soon be overrun by cartoons! Prolific storyboard and graphic novel artist, Rafael Rosado will be showcasing his work in the Mills Gal
lery. The show will feature a behind-the-scenes look into Rafael’s process from initial concepts through the final products. The show will run from October 23 through November 15 and can be viewed any weekday from 9 am to 5 pm. An artist talk and reception is scheduled for 5 pm on Monday November 4.
Born in Puerto Rico and based in Columbus, Ohio, Rafael is a seasoned writer, director and storyboard artist for the animation industry. Highly diverse, he has storyboarded on action, comedy and pre-school shows, shows as diverse as Scooby Doo, Transformers, The Batman, Looney Tunes and Curious George.
He’s the co-creator and Illustrator of the graphic novels: Giants Beware!, Dragons Beware!, and Monsters Beware!, published by First Second Books. His work is featured in the latest edition of the Comics Squad anthology, published by Random House books, and the upcoming The Latinographix Collection, from OSU Press. He’s the illustrator of the Ultra Squad series of graphic novels published by Justice Studios. Call Me Iggy, his newest graphic novel collaboration with Jorge Aguirre is upcoming from First Second Books.
