Energy Center

Energy Sustainability Manager: Tom De Young, 641-628-7622, deyoungt@central.edu

The energy center works toward a balance of energy management and occupant comfort. Providing a comfortable environment begins with space occupancy, which requires energy consumption and technical services. During the unoccupied period, energy is managed by alternate schedules, reduced demands and “set-back procedures. Built-in energy savers help keep the campus “green.” Also responsible for the daily operations of the technical components of our major energy consuming facilities including the central heating and cooling plants, Vermeer Science Center, Kuyper Athletic Complex and Central Market.
