Internships/Study Abroad

Central encourages students to supplement classroom activities and to explore areas not susally covered in regular coursework by arranging internships. Interns at the Department of Human Services in Knoxville assist with family evaluation, while interns at MECCA in Iowa City and Des Moines learn how to work effectively with people, struggling with alcohol and other drug dependencies. Interns at Orchard Place in Des Moines work in child psychology, and those at Crisis Intervention Services in Knoxville and Oskaloosa handle domestic violence cases. The Christian Opportunity Center in Pella provides interns experiences working with mentally and physically challenged people with autism.
